framed

narrow spaces seem to invite the eye to seek the secrets within and beyond. curiosity finds pleasure in the limits of a gap opened somewhere otherwise opaque. there, presented like the most valuable jewel, is what wasn’t for us to see. irregular shapes, hazy contours and sharp contrasts turn commonplace objects into mysterioys elements, unknown and cryptic, that we attempt to decipher from the safety of our hideout.

the allure of what escapes our reach draws our eye to find an opening to look through even where it could roam free. there, where there are no physical constraints, the gaze uses whatever intangible elements that lie nearby to paint one. this illusion brings forth images delineated by an imaginary refuge, a hiding place material enough to highlight the unique treasure we are secretly observing.

in the limits of our imagination also unfold narratives of windows into the darkness. as light floods the exterior, unexpected textures, revealing geometries and stories otherwise disregarded reclaim centrality, turning our attention from the outside back to where we stand.

this series present pieces of world severed from their surroundings by the frames, shadows or bodies that shape them.
